AWS Launch Instance

Activity Description

Launches a new Amazon Web Service instance.

Output

The ID of the new instance created.

Settings

  • Module Name – The name of the AWS module to be used.
  • Region – The region in which the instance resides.
  • Image Name/Id – The image that belongs to the connected Access Key. In the Amazon Console these are under Images > AMIs > AMI ID /AMI name.
  • Key Pair Name – They key pair to be used. In the Amazon Console go to Network & Security > Key Pairs > administratorNG.
  • Group Name/Id – The Name or ID of the group. In the Amazon Console these are under Network & Security > Security Group > Group Name (Resolve Actions Express Default).
  • Instance Type – The type of instance to launch, select from the drop-down list. M1small (for example).
  • Override Connection Parameters – Used to launch a new instance using a different AWS account, instead of the original default account saved under the AWS module.
  • Access Key – If overriding the connection parameters set at the module level, enter a different access key here.
  • Secret Key – If overriding the connection parameters set at the module level, enter a different secret key here.
  • Token – If overriding the connection parameters set at the module level, enter a different token here.
